The School of Medicine at the University of Somalia (UNISO) is one of the leading medical schools in Somalia. It was founded in 2004 and offers a six-year undergraduate program in medicine and surgery. The following organizations accredit the University of Somalia: the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and the Somali Medical Association (SMA).
UNISO also has state-of-the-art facilities, including a modern anatomy lab, a simulation centre, and a well-stocked library. The school also has a strong partnership with the Somali Ministry of Health, which allows students to gain clinical experience at government hospitals and clinics. Students who graduate from the School of Medicine at UNISO are well-prepared to practice medicine in Somalia.
