The School of Medicine at the University of Malawi (UNIMA)was established in 1991 and is located in Blantyre, the commercial capital of Malawi. The school offers a 5-year Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) program that is accredited by the Malawian Medical Council and the World Health Organization. The curriculum of the MBChB program at the School of Medicine is based on the British system and includes courses in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology, microbiology, and clinical medicine. Students also have the opportunity to participate in research projects and clinical rotations.
The University of Malawi, the school has been ranked as the top medical school in Malawi by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
