University of Lubumbashi

Overview

The University of Lubumbashi is accredited by the Congolese Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The school was originally located in the city of Elisabethville (now Lubumbashi), but it was moved to the city of Kinshasa in 1965. In 1981, the school was re-established in Lubumbashi. A 7-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme is available at the School of Medicine.

The institution also provides a number of postgraduate degrees, such as a PhD in medicine, a Master of Medicine (MMed) in public health, and a Master of Science (MSc) in medical microbiology. The school has a student body of over 3,000 students.
