The University of Lagos (UNILAG) is a public research university located in Lagos, Nigeria. It was founded in 1962 and is one of the first generation universities in Nigeria. UNILAG is one of the most prestigious universities in Nigeria and is ranked among the top 100 universities in Africa. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in a variety of fields, including science, engineering, medicine, agriculture, business, and the humanities.
The university has a large and active student body of over 50,000 students, and is home to a number of research institutes and centers. UNILAG is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the Association of African Universities.
