In 1963, the University of Kisangani’s School of Medicine was established. The city of Kisangani, the Tshopo Province’s capital, is where the institution is located. The School of Medicine has a student body of over 1,000 students. The school has a faculty of over 200 professors and lecturers. The university offers a 6-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. The curriculum includes basic sciences, clinical sciences, and practical training courses.
The tuition for the MD program is approximately $2,000 per year. The university has a well-equipped library, a teaching hospital, and research laboratories. The Medicine Department of the University of Kisangani is accredited by the Congolese Ministry of Higher Education.
