The School of Medicine at the University of Benghazi was established in 1970 and is located in the university city of Benghazi. The school offers a 6-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) program that is accredited by the Libyan Ministry of Higher Education and the World Health Organization. The curriculum of the MD program at the School of Medicine is based on the American system and includes courses in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology, microbiology, and clinical medicine. Students also have the opportunity to participate in research projects and clinical rotations.
