The School of Medicine offers a 7-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. The program is divided into two phases: a pre-clinical phase of 3 years and a clinical phase of 4 years. The pre-clinical phase includes courses in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and microbiology. The clinical phase includes courses in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and public health. The tuition fees at the University of Abomey-Calavi are very affordable, making it a good option for students from low-income families.
The School of Medicine is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Benin and by the African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (CAMES).
