The Faculty of Medicine at UMA was established in 2007 and is now called the School of Medicine. A 6-year undergraduate programme leading to the Doctor of Medicine degree is available from the School of Medicine. The Angolan Ministry of Higher Education has approved the programme.the School of Medicine also offers the following medical-related courses: Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Biomedicine and more. Small class sizes, which allow for more personalized attention from professors.
The school was approved by the Ministry of Higher Education of Angola in 2007. The school was initially located in the city of Luanda, but it moved to its current campus in the city of Cabinda in 2015.
