Overview

Omar Al-Mukhtar University It was established in 1975 and is located in the city of Beida. The school offers a 6-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) program that leads to the award of the MBBS degree. The curriculum of the MD program at the School of Medicine is based on the American system and is accredited by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). The program includes courses in basic sciences, clinical sciences, and clinical rotations.

In addition to the MD program, the School of Medicine also offers a number of postgraduate programs, including a Master of Medicine (MMed) program, a Master of Public Health (MPH) program, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in biomedical sciences.
