The Obafemi Awolowo University College of Health Sciences was established in 1980 and the School of Medicine was established in 1982. The School of Medicine offers a six-year MBBS program, which is the equivalent of a doctor of medicine degree in other countries. The MBBS program includes courses in the following areas: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and More. The Obafemi Awolowo University School of Medicine is one of the leading medical schools in Nigeria. It is ranked 1st in Nigeria and 10th in Africa by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023.
