Overview

Mekelle University offers a 6-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) program accredited by the Ethiopian Medical and Health Science Council. The program is taught in English and is divided into two phases: the pre-clinical phase and the clinical phase. To be eligible for the MD program at Mekelle University, applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and complete the required pre-medical courses. The application process includes an entrance exam, an interview, and a background check.

According to the Mekelle University has a total of 31,733 students, of which 2,403 are enrolled in the School of Medicine Department approximately. It has a strong faculty and a state-of-the-art infrastructure.
