Overview

Hawassa Universit was established in 1999 and offers a 6-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. The program is accredited by the Ethiopian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO). A state-of-the-art teaching hospital, the Hawassa University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital. The hospital has a capacity of over 1,000 beds and provides a wide range of medical services. According to the latest updates, Hawassa University is currently ranked 881st in the world and 18th in Africa by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

The tuition fee for the MD program at HU is approximately 50,000 Ethiopian Birr per year. However, there are scholarships available for qualified students.
